I had friends in New York who fought against the sinking depressing feeling that sometimes kicks in on Sunday nights. Instead of letting it get them, they’d plan Sunday night trips to the movies or bowling alley. I always thought it was a good idea.
It turns out Colombians may have never given up Sundays at all. Here Sundays are for family, ice cream and movies. It’s pretty great. Today (which we know was Monday, but it was a long weekend so it was like a Sunday), Casey and I managed to get in all three. We met up with a friend and her daughter for lunch, then stopped on the way home to get ice cream, and then went to a movie with a couple of our housemates. It’s now 9:30 p.m., and there’s barely any time to even think about getting down before the workweek starts tomorrow 🙂
