Meeting Crashers

Last week in the campo, Case and I found out about a meeting that was basically going to bring together half the people we work with and then some others. So, we asked one of the people setting up the logistics if we could attend. She probably wasn’t the person in charge of the invite list, but she said yes, so we were in. The meeting turned out to be even better than we expected, full of information that we can use in our writing, and coming from people we now don’t have to schedule time to interview. Boom.

After the meeting, everyone was getting on a chiva to go for lunch. When asked if we were going, we just said yes, and hopped aboard. It was my first ride on a chiva, so that was fun, and then we ended up at a semi-fancy luncheon. We probably weren’t supposed to be there, but we just acted like we were, and sat at the head table. We figured everyone there probably assumed someone else invited us.

The chiva we hopped a ride on. The others riding were mayors, state and federal folks.

We’re headed to the campo again tomorrow. Will post again when we get back next week.
