Portrait of a (*fun) work day

On Wednesday evening Oscar sent us a text asking if we wanted to go to his “finca” in El Peñol to talk through our remaining work here in Colombia. We packed our bags and arrived to a green landscapes and a beautiful sunny afternoon.  We chatted about work, had some aguardiente (the preferred alcoholic beverage in Antioquia), and ate some amazing grilled pork.  Oscar said the pigs in the countryside taste better because they are fed cooked and salted plantains.

Now we are back in Medellin this afternoon, preparing for another trip to Granada.  Have a great weekend!

View from Oscar’s finca at El Peñol.  The stone house on the left used to belong to Pablo Escober and was one of his many “hideouts.”
